Our approach to working with clients is really very simple.
Purpose & Values
We start by asking you “what is your purpose?”. Not just in your business, but in life. Because if what you’re doing in business isn’t aligned with your purpose, you’re going to struggle for the motivation you need to reach your goals. This might sound like a simple question, but it’s not something most of us think about and it can take some drilling down to come up with a strong purpose statement.
The same goes for values. If your business doesn’t reflect your personal values, you’re never going to feel quite right about what you’re doing. We take some time to get to a list of values that are personal to you.
Goal Setting
Once we’ve established your purpose and values, we can ask the ‘why’ question – why are you in business? This is how you set your long-term goals.
After that, it’s a matter of breaking those goals down. What are your 1 and 2 year goals that will set you up for achieving the big goal? What do you need to achieve in the next 6 month, the next quarter, the next month and the next week to achieve the bigger goals? All of the goals need to be SMART – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
Some of this will lead to other discussions – how do get more out of my team? How do I increase my sales? How do I reduce customer churn?
Actions
Finally, we’ll set up a list of actions, tied to your SMART goals.
